Jetstar’s first international flight taking to the skies

Jetstar will launch its first international services on Thursday 1 December 2005.

Jetstar will celebrate inaugural flights from Melbourne to Christchurch in New Zealand with JQ 406 from Christchurch touching down at 8.00 am and JQ 405 flight taking off from Melbourne International Airport at 8.40am on 1 December 2005.

The low fares carrier will base two Airbus A320 aircraft at Christchurch International Airport to enable a highly competitive entry into the trans Tasman market to four Australian destinations – Melbourne (9 times weekly), Sydney (10 times weekly), Brisbane (7 times weekly) and from 3 December, 2 times weekly from Christchurch to Gold Coast.
