ST AEROSPACE EXPANDS MRO CAPACITY IN SINGAPORE WITH NEW WIDE-BODY HANGARSingapore Technologies Aerospace (ST Aerospace), the aerospace arm of Singapore Technologies Engineering (ST Engineering), expands its maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities in Singapore with the opening of its latest hangar. The $25m hangar, located at the ST Aviation Services Co (SASCO) Changi facility, is built to accommodate a single wide-body aircraft. This new hangar further strengthens Singapore’s position as a leading MRO hub. It will be equipped to carry out heavy maintenance and modification for the Boeing 777, 747 or Airbus A340 wide-body aircraft types. In addition to the narrow-body hangar that began operations at its Seletar facility last year, this increased capacity further reinforces ST Aerospace’s position as the largest airframe MRO provider in the world, and enables it to extend its comprehensive service offerings for its expanding customer base. “SASCO has been able to consistently deliver high quality maintenance services at cost effective rates, and with good turnaround times. Their continued investment in state-of the-art equipment and new hangars such as this being opened today, will help strengthen Singapore’s position as a leading aerospace hub, one that can provide quick and sophisticated aerospace MRO services for the regional market and beyond.” ~ LIM Hwee Hua, Minister of State for Finance and Transport "We will continue to invest in new capabilities and capacities to meet the increasing demands of our global customer base. This new addition signifies our confidence in our customers and SASCO’s position as a leading aircraft MRO company.” ~ TAY Kok Khiang, President, ST Aerospace |
